The Volvo Ocean race involved seven teams circumventing the globe covering 45,000 in 11 legs in class Volvo Ocean 65 yachts. The onboard footage and use of drones was acknowledged to have broken new ground in extreme sailing photography. Cardiff was the stopover after leg 9 from Newport, USA.
